Open Face Caprese Sandwiches
Makes 8 mini Sandwiches
Ingredients:
Instructions:
Slice the bread into 1/2 inch thick slices and lightly toast in a toaster, toaster oven or oven
Slice the Mozzarella into 8 evenly sliced, round slices, roughly 1/2 inch thick
Slice the tomatoes into 4 1/2 inch thick slices
lay out the toasted bread and drizzle lightly with the balsamic vinegar and olive oil and salt and pepper lightly
Place the tomato on top of the bread
Place the Mozzarella on top of the tomato
Take a leaf of basil and place on top of the Mozzarella
Drizzle again with Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar and lightly season once again with salt and black pepper
Now your sandwiches and done and ready to serve and eat right away, or you can store them in the fridge for later.
- 1 8oz ball of fresh mozzarella, sliced into 8 round pieces
- 1 small loaf French or Itatian bread, sliced and lightly toasted
- 8 leaves of fresh Basil
- 2 medium sized tomatoes sliced into 8 round pieces
- Drizzle of Olive Oil
- Hefty drizzle of Balsamic Vinegar
- A few shakes of salt
- A few shakes of Black Pepper
- A Large plate to place the sandwiches on
